On the contrary the Californian peninsola looks here like an island/after Speed¨s model/.This mistake was removed in the beginning of 18.century by German cartographer and editor Johann Baptist Homann.Exactly depicted are the large Canadian - American lakes,dewatered by the river st.Lawrence to Atlantic,aswell the island part of the middle America.The attentive viewer can take notice of the Canadian/at that time French/towns Quebec ,Montréal/ Mont Real/ and English New York /N.Yorek/,founded in 1626 by Netherlanders on the river Hudson.Its name till 1664 was New Amsterdam.
